Thailand Guitar Society aims to create new directions, new ideas and ambitions for the classical guitar community in Thailand to make an attractive and enjoyable experiences of playing and learning.
The society’s goal is to promote the art of classical guitar. Together with the supports from the best teachers and staff, our experiences and knowledge in organizing, participating and performing in many events around the world, our teaching experiences in universities, music schools and masterclasses, and lastly our own Asia International Guitar Festival, beginning in 2001 and continuing today, provide our students with more confidence in the advancement of classical guitar in Thailand.
We cordially invite guitarists, guitar makers, and guitar aficionados around the world to exchange ideas and experiences in the Asia International Guitar Festival, one of the leading guitar festivals in Asia, held annually in June at the Sukosol Hotel. Among the well-known classical guitarists who collaborated with the Society are Gerard Abiton, Roberto Aussel, Roland Dyens, Roberto Limon, Ermanno Bottiglieri, Costas Cotsiolis, David Russell, Alvaro Pierri, Pavel Steidl, Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukic, Hugo Geller, Jorgos Panetsos, Flavio Cucchi, Galina Vale, Duo Amadeus, Thomas-Friedrich Kirchhoff, Sachiko Miyashita, Lester Demetillo, Gentaro Takada, Minoru Inagaki, Dagmar and Josef Zsapka, Jorge Luis Zamora, Roman Viazovskiy, and Tomonori Arai. Additionally the Festival is a frequent meeting ground for such guitar makers as Yuichi Imai, Karl-Heinz & Falko Roemmich, Masaki Sakurai, Sumio Kurosawa, Young Seo, Hanief Palopo, Wiroon Songbundit, Raks Chingsakol, and Narongsak Visesnut.
